This is the same reasoning that Huckster Carlson uses to convince rightist populists that the US should become a pussy nation afraid to keep order in the world.
It reduces everything down to a classic false dilemma. Namely, if someone is making money by doing something, that means that whatever that something is is necessarily fraudulent.
Just because a doctor or a hospital is making money by giving you and operation (and trust me, they are), that doesn't mean you didn't need the operation.
Just because someone is making money on military actions (and trust me, someone always will) that doesn't mean that the actions were not necessary and in the country's best interest.
And just because black people are monetizing their newfound political opinions online doesn't mean they aren't sincere in those opinions. It also doesn't mean that they are not influencing other black people.
Thinking like that is a specious fallacy that conflates two things that are not necessarily related at all.
