I hate speaking for someone else but I think his point is this.

Humans are quite obviously imperfect. So yes, you're correct, the, as you call it, "benevolent sexism" that stems from traditional values exists. However, it exists in the context of a larger good.

You are probably correct. It's probably going to fall by the wayside but along with it, so is the larger good. So, this may be one of them thar pyrrhic victories they talk about!!!

But I'd like one of you to explain exactly why holding women less accountable than men for their actions is for the better good?

No. The "better good" is that the thing you speak of springs from the traditional attitude men have towards "protecting" women.

The point being. Sadly, we are imperfect beings. The traditional male views towards protecting women manifest themselves 95% for good, but also, for, as you call it, "benevolent sexism".

I think you're right. It's going to go away. But, it's going to go away because so is the other 95%
