Does anyone ever think about how completely pointless the post 9-11 wars were?

I guess we are just supposed to accept that we were in these desert boondoggles for 20+years for no apparent reason?

5,000+ dead Americans (mostly young men), and that is just direct kills, not including indirect deaths from PTSD, or other deaths resulting from injury or exposure, etc. Plus thousands and thousands of amputees, and other injuries. As well as the trillions of our treasure that was sunk into it, eventually leading to the 2008 recession.

And all for what? Because our own government imported Muslims into the country and f*cking taught them how to fly the fricking planes to kill us with?

Afghanistan was worth it, Iraq probably not...

Bush 41 could have killed Saddam in the Gulf War, but let him live for another decade

Because he could keep Iran in place

Afghanistan was somewhat justified. Iraq was not.

Iraq was completely ridiculous. The Bush/Cheney gang are war criminals.

I think about it pretty often. All those American lives destroyed for absolutely nothing. If any living president should be on trial, it’s W Bush for war crimes, along with everyone else in his admin.

If you'd said this 20yrs ago I would have defended them to no end. Now I hate their guts. I just wish the democrats could see Biden and his bunch of warmongers are the same.

Pre 911, the US was being attacked repeatedly by terrorist. 1st World Trade Center bombing, US Embassy bombings, USS Cole bombing, 2nd WTC bombing, and others.

Post 911, the terrorist networks and the regimes that supported them were either wiped out (Afghanistan) or they were doing everything possible to avoid being next in line (Iraq). Even if you where totally against the war on terror, you have to admit that the US was safer after we kicked some asses.

Afghanistan was justified but Invading Iraq and overthrowing Sadaam destabilized the whole region. The only thing towel heads know is an iron fist of authority and that’s what they need to stay in line. Sadaam kept everyone in line and didn’t put up with shite. Same reason the US shouldn’t have been working to overthrow Assad.

Simple solution. Just deport Middle Eastern Muslims, specifically men between 20-40. Problem solved and 5,000 Americans lives saved.

But we can't talk that way.

Why? Maybe Shock N Awe. Why did we need to be there for 20 years? Unless you were telling me they had oil fields and we needed the oil, but we left it all to the Chi-Comms anyways. So all for what? Poppy Fields?

We could have just deported everyone we deemed a threat and not let any threats back in. Problem solved, and no wars needed. These solutions are almost too simple.

Well, they're also not realistic.

They are.

The people calling the shots don't want quick and easy solutions.

They want opportunities to steal our money.

That's why we fight under the rules of politicians instead of warriors.
