He wants one if it can be spun to place blame on Democrats. ABC just released a poll showing people would blame Trump and Republicans though. 48% would blame Trump and Republicans, while only 28% would blame Democrats.
Now he's meeting with Schumer to try and work something out. Coincidentally just after the poll was released.

Trump wanted it boiled down to one give away to the Dems. DACA was so big and so coveted, they bit. Now he has pulled the rug out and defined them with DACA. He gets the Wall and they get DACA which is inevitable. He is paying 4 D chess with the democrats.

It's too bad Trump wants to spend so much on the military.
If we had a shutdown and all this tax money from corporations is repatriated it seems like we could shave a couple trillion dollars off the deficit in 2018.

Here are the facts, Dems had almost a 20 point lead in the midterm polls, it’s now closed to 6%, and trending to the Repubs. The shutdown will probably add to the Repub majority , so this is good IMO....

Our Government Collects around 3.5 Trillion in tax revenue per year.
Discretionary spending which includes everything from transportation, va benefits, military spending to hud only makes up around 1.5 Trillion.
The rest is mandatory spending

To add to that, this board doesn't seem to understand that DACA is quite popular with the American public.
