I don't see how they are that much different. What other company is conducting human trials for human-computer brain interface implants?
If what Yuval is referring to is the end, then what Musk is doing is potentially a big enabler/contributor towards the means.

Saw someone live tweeting the presentation. The monkeys were trained to go sit inside some kind of kiosk that recharged the batteries required to power the implants. I’m assuming the batteries go inside of the skull so it has to be like wireless charging station. I’m sure it’s safe though.
