We thank you for your donation to my new house though

Technically they have to spend it "on their campaign", save it for next time or contribute it (in small amounts) to other campaigns. This is why you hear someone is dropping out of a race a few days before they officially announce, because they are busy giving campaign money to people they want to buy for later or people they think they can get something back from.

They also will pay cousin Eddie 200k for "campaign marketing", payments to "foundations", or "consulting". The trick is that cousin Eddie never actually does any of that work. Then cousin Eddie can give the money back to the candidate at a later date. It has many ways of finding it back to the candidate.

Cousin Eddie gets half a million from the Bernie campaign for consulting services. Or Bernie campaign makes a big donation to cousin Eddie's foundation.
Then Bernie does speaking engagements and consulting for Eddie's firm and foundation for 100k a pop for the next 25 years.

Why do you think Bernie did not get out early last time when told to by the DNC? Monet was rolling in. He owes them a thank you for his 2 new homes.

How did you think that Bernie acquired 3 very expensive houses/mansions!

Hence the stupid regular joe who give a dime to any campaign thinking it is going to anything good. All these bastards both Rep and Dems are only it in for the $$ and power, thats it.

Same as it's always been. "The fool and his money are quickly parted!"
