In fairness, they were blaming all men. I'd never do what Wienstein did and I'd have a hard time believing someone could get away with that for so long if someone told me that a year ago.

No, blanket categorization is not appropriate but I would add that just in the case of terrorism, it is clear that a particular socio-political faction is associated with deviant behavior against women.
