Bob Iger told Reuters that, if the law is implemented, it would be not be "practical for us to continue to shoot" in Georgia.

"I rather doubt we will" continue filming in the state, Iger said. "I think many people who work for us will not want to work there, and we will have to heed their wishes in that regard. Right now we are watching it very carefully."

Disney has recently filmed in other countries with strict laws against abortion. Part of the 2019 film Aladdin, which Disney produced, was shot in Jordan. The Jordanian penal code criminalizes abortion. The only exceptions are fetal impairment, when the mother's life is in danger, and other, limited circumstances to protect her physical and mental health. Otherwise, the mothers—not just the doctors—can be imprisoned.

The Washington Free Beacon could not find any record of Iger expressing reluctance about filming in Jordan or the United Arab Emirates because of their abortion laws.

It irritates me the position these companies take. A year ago I watched videos about how proud some of the cast of Ozark was to work in such a wonderful place. If you're from Georgia I assume you are proud of your state (one of the original 13 colonies) and are proud that you've developed a burgeoning film industry. You appreciate that outside industry takes an interest and seems happy and welcomed. Now a year or so later the discussion has turned so vile with threats to leave the state and Georgians in the industry behind. It is not a time to be proud of our strength as an American people.

So if Florida passed the same abortion laws would Disney pick and move to a liberal state ? It’s highly unlikely. This is just a liberal company trying to force someone to do what they want . If this was the other way around it would be all over CNN and the rest of the fake news bashing the company.

Has Disney seen the Florida Turnpike?

It is 90% pro life and Jesus billboards.

One of my favorites.

It's Hollywood and they have lots and lots of agenda items to push. It's not about Minnie and Mickey.

Its a blast watching y'all react to people expressing their opinions with their pocket book.

Hollywood should be ashamed of itself for doing business in Georgia simply based on labor laws in Georgia. I would bet that about the same majority of people in this country who support a woman's right to decide what is best for her also support the idea that an employer should foot the entire bill for their cost of production instead of asking the tax payer to help a brother out but that is exactly what many employers in the Peach State are doing....

They're not reacting to Disney expressing its opinion with its pocket book.

They're reacting to the hypocrisy of a company threatening to leave a state due to abortion laws, yet have no issue operating in other nations that have equal or even more severe abortion laws.

I'd be really impressed if Disney decided to stop selling any products, services, or showing any productions in Georgia...that would be a statement!

Because when you are a Leftist, you have to PRETEND to care.....

Truth is, Disney doesn't care about anything other than themselves and neither do any of our resident Leftards on this board....

Yeah Hollywood should not be doing business in Georgia...median family income is about $58K....average cost of living for a family of 4 in 18 metro areas in Georgia is roughly $75K....a significant gap.

So residents of Georgia need to make more money? How?

No, most of the shortfall is made up for by federal taxes used to subsidize things like healthcare, housing, transportation and food. Like most red states Georgia employers enjoy the largesse offered by such federal programs subsidizing their production costs. No matter if it is a backhoe or a person anything used in the course of making one's living must be housed, maintained and fueled. The average Georgia employer relies on federal programs to accomplish this.....

Conclusion median family isn’t made up of 4 people...

Or first number includes people outside metro areas...
