Let's be honest. This befuddled buffoon, who couldn't even name the 3 "Chains" of the Federal Government, is barely 5 weeks into her "career" as a Congresswoman, and she's already sponsoring major, albeit seriously flawed, legislation. And what's even crazier, a lot of people are pretending to take her seriously. I've never seen any Congressperson hit town and become such an integral part of their party in just 5 weeks.
I have my own ideas, but who do you think is propping up AOC?

All of her bullshite is too stupid for there to be a mastermind behind it. Eliminating beef and airplanes? Seriously? Other senior Dems...Harris and Booker...are paying her and her followers lip service for the moment because they can't afford to lose them to Bernie.

She's been a media darling since she announced her candidacy to primary Joe Crowley, because of this she's become the unofficial mascot for the "Socialism is cool and I'm edgy because I go against the grain" segment of Millennials. The older Dem crowd knows its in their best interest to play make-believe with her for the time being so they can bring the aforementioned Millennial segment into their camp with 2020 looming.

I tend to agree. If she had a handler she would be reciting talking points. She doesn't. She speaks from stream of consciousness. She is very stupid but very honest. A handler would cure that. Even a dalmatian can be taught some basic tricks.

The Justice Democrats were started by people who worked on the Bernie campaign. AOC's brother attended a couple of their committee meetings and suggested his sister as someone they could use to make the face of their movement.
So, you'd have to investigate the big funders of Bernie '16, which were mostly individual donations from Upper Middle Class white folks from the NE.
