That’s a high level credentialed source. Z got played by UK again. We’ll see how this plays out, backlash from US on UK piggybacking off US.
Yet another reminder it’s time to leave NATO/EU.

I posted in the other thread basically what Tony says in his tweet.
The EU thought they were going to be slick and try to get us to extend our umbrella of protection to all of Europe because of Ukraine. The EU waaay overplayed their hand.
Trump was right. None of them have the cards.
What a bunch of deceitful idiots trying to leverage us like this.

Only thing I've seen out of the UK on this is that the British PM has said that if a deal was to be in place the UK would deploy air assets to the region to create a no fly zone and could potentially put boots on the ground. This was apparently agreed to by Macron who send France would do the same thing.

If true, then Trump overplayed his hand. There's just no way to spin this.

Let’s hope he did. That was his only bargaining chip with the US he had to play, and so if so, it’s now all Europe’s baby, and that suites me just fine.
Europe needs to fund it’s own militaries, and protect it’s over sovereignties. It’s highly absurd to just expect for the American people to front the bill, and put American lives on the line in order to protect them, all the while enjoy the benefits economically from not having to put that into their budget every year.

Why can't Trump admit Putin is a dictator?
i think Putin is a dictator and a bad person.
calling him that in negotiations is sure to get us somewhere. we've called him a dictator and treated him like it for the last 10 years and kept arming his next door neighbors and invited them to treaties that are directly in opposition to his country.
again, dictator, despot, murderer, etc. all true. still the leader of Russia we have to deal with unless we're going to start WW3. calling him names in the media when we're trying to reach a conclusion is counterintuitive

In comparison to which world leaders?
Biden
Starmer
Macron
Xi Zinping
IMO Putin looks out for Russia better than Biden/Obama did for the USA.

i mean i'm bordering on anarchist at this point so they all are.
maybe to phrase it differently:
I do not think Putin is a good guy, but he greatly tries to protect his country more fiercely and with a heavy hand that I think is always merited. that being said, he is the leader on the other side of this conflict.
Unless we plan on assassinating him, or going to WW3 with him, we have to negotiate with who is currently on the other side of the table. Calling him names at this point is petty when you are another world leader with skin in this game.

If so, defending those minerals is now the U.K.'s problem.

I enjoy reading your takes.
I always want to see if you can “outdumb” yourself. Rarely do you disappoint.

maybe...
but ... is this a bad take....
some of our biggest allies will now have priorities that will take up a lot of their resources thus making us vulnerable to some of our other biggest enemies. ??
