DeSantis doesn’t have to do this - so why is he?

DeSantis could have avoided a year long war with the man who has a firm grasp over a big portion of GOP voters, the man who has shown he will say anything about any of his opponents to win a vote and his followers will believe him whether truthful or not.
DeSantis could have avoided entering a year long war starting as an underdog, and waited until he could enter as the favorite and likely not have to battle Trump. If he waited until 2028, he may have had the easiest road to the White House anyone has seen in a long time.
He doesn’t have to do this. So why is he?
Because he knows, as we all do, we can’t let the insane, evil Democrats remain in power. He knows Trump has a coin flip’s shot at best to beat Biden, and there is too much on the line to leave it to a coin flip. He knows how to win an election, and once won, he knows how to win on policy. DeSantis would not only keep Dems out of power, he’d advance the conservative movement in monumental, lasting ways.
He’s doing it because it’s the right thing to do, and a fight isn’t something he’s afraid of.

Glad Trump isn't like that

Because he will win the nomination.

Because he needs to get out as a candidate as opposed to a governor.
Plus, the longer he waits, the more Trump coalesces his power and implies he's scared to square up to him.
Trup supporter BTW, but will gladly vote for RDS if he's the nominee.

I think he, like me and many others, recognize that the Trump sycophant wing of the of party is as damaging to conservatism as the left is. The quicker we can relegate those losers to the far corners of the internet and society the better.
Go file your grievance claims with the trannies.

I think it is a dumb decision.
This battle ultimately weakens both viable R candidates.

You don't have to post this thread so why did you?

5 years congress, 6 governor, now is trying to get Presidency gig with help of GOPe.
He's done in my book.

Because it’s a free fricking country despite Trump’s continuation of Patriot Act articles.

Because he's a stooge. The evil Democrats have blackmail on him. He's sent to cause a rift.

If you Desantis Dickheads wouldn't be so vapid in your criticism in those who don't agree with you, perhaps you could reach some common ground.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that this is the most accurate and well-stated Trump commentary I've seen to date.

I don’t want common ground with these people. They are an enemy to liberty and will be destroyed.
