He argued that a criminal offense is necessary to support an appropriate Article of Impeachment.

Then he openly admitted that this view is the (small) minority view among Constitutional scholars and basically suggested that the Senate should nonetheless accept HIS interpretation over that of the large majority.

Gotta admire that level of honesty.

In Dersh's defense, the "large majority of xxxxx scholars" in America are dumbass leftists.

I notice you don't address the substance of his argument. Instead you employ an appeal to popularity.

He was hired to a tenured professorship at Harvard at the age of 28. Youngest ever in the history of Harvard to have such a position.

How old were you when you finished law school?

If we are going to do emotive arguments, surely you'll humor my own appeal to authority here, right?

Derschowitz is smarter than you are. I trust him over you.

Serious question without any negativity. I am an atheist, for example.

As I understand it, let's assume I want to park at a metered space, but not pay the parking fee. I go so far as to tell John Bolton, in my office, of my desire to save the 50 cents I'd owe a meter. When Bolton leaves the room, other associates convince me to do the right thing and pay, which I do.

However, because I intended to not pay, I still get a parking ticket. Correct?

Well, I do not think the House has alleged an impeachable offense, either, so I am uncertain what point you might think you are making. I simply agree with Dershowitz on his Point Two, rather than Point Three.

He is confident in his analysis of the historical data, and he can disagree with Larry Tribe’s conflicting analysis without being an arse or hurling epithets.

I admire that about him, not least because of the stark contrast to what I see here.

I admire his intellect. But that's about it. I think the dude is a scumbag.

How can someone be so intelligent on these matters (constitutional law) and still be a Hillary Clinton supporter? It defies logic.

But he did a bang up job last night for sure.

He's claimed in the past that he considered abuse of power and other non-statutory "high crimes" impeachable. Did he say what changed his mind?

Not sure how that is relevant.

I do not discount the possibility of a creator entity or entities, but (if such exists) I doubt that it bears much resemblance to any of the gods of any human-created religion or pantheon.

Why?

He did touch on it, actually. He explained (rightly so) that as an academic you are duty bound to change your viewpoint as you gather new information.

Science works the same way.
