Germany was crippled, divided and still being rebuilt after having their shite kicked in by us and the Allies and were no longer a world power. They still only have access to nuclear weapons through NATO weapons sharing. Those German scientists were war prisoners. Operation Paperclip was vital to the US and our allies in developing weapon systems post-WW2. China is a completely different situation.

Tim Waltz doesn’t have a Chinese father in law and still loves China.
LeBron James is black and loves China.
So I highly doubt they stopped loving China because the father in law died.
