The issue/question/rumor is whether they will make an emergency declaration regarding voting in the midterms. Or try to curtail voting availability.
So if that happens, it would be the result of Trump being worried about midterms. Not the Dems, they want as many people voting as possible.

Not really. They're going to pick up seats. It won't be a massive blue wave but they'll change the dynamics slightly.
