I just don’t agree with punishing folks for the sins of their parents. And you’re welcome to make the argument the Dreamers should have dropped everything and moved back the day they turned 18 as LSU Patrick and KCT would have undoubtedly done, but that’s laughable.
You responded to LSU Patrick. But mentioned him in the post; so I’m assuming you are taking to me.
I’ve already laid out what I believe should be done. And one of those is offering these “kids” a path to citizenship. Again, I have no idea what you are arguing anymore other than just to derail a great thread about a young lady...and well, aregue some more.

She looks a lot friendlier and prettier than those dreamers too!

Why can’t we tailor citizenship or legal status to preferred professions? We do it with the tax code all the time.
And I agree with nonautomatic citizenship. No felonies and back taxes are obvious. I’m even good with verified, above-the-table employment for a certain amount of time. I just don’t know if I agree with forced service because you’re still uprooting them from their stations in life for the sins of their parents. And implicit in all of this is them being/ remaining productive members of society, so why cause a vacancy in their job, lease, social relationships for something they had no control over versus ensuring they remain contributing members?

them being/ remaining productive members of society,
Ok. What if they’re not? I’m not saying there aren’t any that are; but what about those that ARE NOT productive members of society?

[you’ve got to go back!]
On a phone and too lazy to get the Trump .gif
ETA: pursuant to a plan they have to meet. Verified employment, no felonies, etc. Not a blanket pass, but not a blanket eviction. You meet the standards and you get to sty. You don’t meet them then you get to go back.

It isn't forced service. I think they should stay barring crimes and back taxes. If they want full citizenship then ideally they should serve. Tailored professions could work though I'm not sure how you decide which professions fit.

frick YES. That's how it's done. Welcome!
And yes. Would.

Or do you impose empirical requirements that fit within their station in society? I.e. pay your back taxes, no crimes, etc.?
Funny that both times you list the “requirements” and “merits” that you believe should be met, you’ve left out “Not allowed to vote” ..... just be honest and admit that’s the whole end game result that Dems want. Quit with the bullshite “empathy” narrative and call it what the frick it is.

My wife is a permanent resident who came on a student visa. It was a total PITA to even change her visa to permanent residency, even though we were married with a natural born American child. She pays zero attention to politics, but is beyond pissed off that illegals even get the time of day.

She looks like she's about 16.
Why don't you have a seat over there.

My Ukranian ex had to jump through the same hoops and feels the same way. Funny story, she was taking an English class and had to do a report on some immigration issues. She had me read some of the articles that she was given to use. It was about some hispanic illegals and their "story". One woman had been here for 10 years and still did not know English. My ex learn English, pretty well I might add, in 6 months watching tv. She came over in an arranged marriage and didn't know a lick of English during her ceremony. So she included her feeling about this woman in her report and got an F. It got turned into an A when she stood up in the middle of the class, introduced herself, and told the professor her story and chastised him for giving her an F.
