I agree.
The longer the shutdown lasts the worse Dumocrats will look for caring more about illegal aliens than the American people.

There should be some form of Presidential EO based on National Security that orders payment to the Military.
Absolutely - require a super 67 vote super majority to overturn it.

Well, I'm impressed that apparently McConnell didn't fold like a cheap tent.
It appears that the establishment is finally learning a lesson.

They should change the filibuster rules to where if you filibuster those who do it have to continually go up and debate the subject at hand.
The way it is now is bullshite. Has nothing to do with debate. It's just a way to require 60 votes to pass anything

Chucky has caved. From Fox news:
quote:
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., announced on the floor ahead of the test vote that they’ve reached an agreement -- and “will vote today to re-open the government.” He said this comes with a commitment to negotiate on immigration, and immediately consider such legislation if there’s no agreement by Feb. 8.

I knew it. The dems got blamed for the shutdown and got nothing for it. Plus, they gave the republicans a ton of ammunition for the midterms. Trump is teaching the establishment how to win.

They really are stupid. This is essentially the same deal that they were supposed to vote on last night and Chuck refused. Now he has had another cycle of negative press with all the morning shows and the scenes of government workers being sent home on deferment which could have been avoided by voting last night.
