To be fair, the head of the Republican Party is a guy who's bankrupted a casino (the only time the house didn't win I guess), and is actively trying to lower interest rates despite knowing it will almost certainly increase inflation.

It's not owed "to us" it's owed "by us" which is the literal opposite.
