Had more to do with the “storm” today but yes a lot of places have abbreviated hours and if they aren’t a tourist trap they are closing on Sunday. I’ve kinda enjoyed being down there on Sundays this summer.

Ok then those businesses can choose to close permanently or find a way to staff their businesses.

I'm not a fan of the government paying people to stay home. But who decided to shut down the economy? Who is responsible for that decision?

Let's not pretend the food/service sector has never been challenged to find staff ever before...

Mid-August. A lot of their staff is back in school or about to be. I'm sure COVID has a few quarantined as well.

Not necessarily.

Orange Beach and Gulf Shores was like that a couple of weeks ago. Turns out a few of the touristy-type chain-style restaurants (amazing what tourists think is good Gulf seafood) began enacting vaccine mandates and had their entire staffs walk out.

If that’s the case then I’ll gladly cook my own food.

No, I am not fricking retarded.

Unnecessary Government shutdowns started this mess.

OK, all of the people making $100k plus a year should be fighting for food service jobs because they are "available".

No, frick you government for wrecking the economy so bad over the China flu that nobody making more than $10/hr can find a job.

If the govt stopped paying to sit at home the low wage earners would fill their slots, and it would trickle up from there

Econ isn't hard. Stop giving out money
