A significant portion of them don't want those jobs. Colleges have pushed the idea that everyone needs to go to College. Since Colleges have pushed the idea that you are worthless if you don't have a degree, people think they are too good to do menial jobs. That leads to Lgbtqwhatever and DEI departments. Those people are in for a rude awakening when those Departments are eliminated from Universities(I hope), Companies and Government.

I'm just happy to see someone on this board admitting that populism is Marxist at its core.
I know you'll deny that, but there's no denying that you are anti-conservative.
That's another way of saying, "liberal," you know.

Divide the number of "cheap" illegal labor hours by their wages PLUS all the money the government gives to the population of illegals. Now how "cheap" is it?
This is a completely different matter, and it is a point you should make to anyone arguing that we should not deport illegals. My position is that we should.
But there is no way the cost to our government is making illegal labor equal to domestic labor. It is cheaper, and when it is deported the jobs they were doing will cost their employers more money or they won’t get done.

How about I pay for services when I need them rather than contributing to the 12 figure pool of money that the government spends to make illegal labor "cheap"?

It will in turn bring in labor bc of the money they can make and thus bring in competition. Who wants to roof a house for $5 a hour? Not any Americans. Who wants to roof a house for $25 a hour? Lots of Americans.
Yep. That’s the plan, and I’m for it. We will pay more for roofs, though.

I am not involved in hiring, but it isn't a matter of paying less for most in construction.
We literally cannot find enough sober help. And no, it isn't because of pay.

The price would be what it is now, but with new companies getting into the business left by the void of the illegals, the price would start coming down.

Oh, so Trump is wrong when he says this will help American workers have better wages? Because if the price returns to where it is now, then the wages of the American workers have to be equal to the wages of the illegals, and we know that’s not true.
At this point you know you are wrong. You can keep wiggling away but you are just prolonging the inevitable.

They should be paid the wages equivalent to the TOTAL cost of equivalent "cheap" immigrant labor.
How you run the numbers yet on how much Manual the roofer is costing when you give him a share of the hundreds of billions spent to get them here?

Clearly you know nothing about construction!
My framer 8 years ago made $130,000 todays he is making way over $200,000
You’re a moron

This is a complete non sequitur.

The current price of a roof is comprised of a lot of things. The wages of the roofers are one of those things. One thing that is not one of those things is how much the government is spending to help illegals.
The argument you are making is a valid argument to justify sending illegals home; it is not an argument that prices of roofs will not go up. Your argument is that the overall cost to society of sending the illegals home is lower than one might think. Yes, you are right there.
Bonus: The etymology of “Thing” is very interesting. The Nordic societies were dispersed, so they would meet about once per year to do all kinds of business, rituals, and to judge lawsuits. This gathering was called “The Thing”. The word evolved to be applied to all nouns.

I watched "Free State of Jones" with McConaheeyyy for the first time this weekend. Had no idea what it was about, but it's interesting the parallels to today. It's a pretty good movie, with a strong message. Based on a true story in Ole Miss during and after the CW.
