20,000,000 residents in Metropolitan NY area (about 50 mile radius of Manhattan)

20,000 COVID-19 deaths in that area

1/10 of 1% of the residents of Metro NYC died of COVID-19

There may be 3 places where you can get a more fertile environment for spreading a virus than the NYC subway - Japan's trains, London's tube, and somewhere in India.

We all have to wreck our economy for that.

Without NYC this wouldn't equal the flu, gonna be a lot of effort to keep people from realizing that.

^^This is typical rush hour NYC Subway ridership (but not a maxed out car). And extreme rush hours run 7am to 9am then 4:30pm thru 6pm. Millions of people ride like this every day.

I'd agree with somewhere in India. But NYCs subways during rush hour are beyond belief. Google Images is purged of accurate photos. People jam into the cars until the doors won't close and then a few are pushed back out to the platform.

I lived in Manhattan for 10 years. Rush hour subway cars are packed like sardine cans.

Growing up in small town Ohio, I dreamt of living in a big city. Although not NY, living in Columbus, Cleveland, and Boston; I have circled back to enjoying small town life.

To OP: the CFR we have interest in relies on positive cases/deaths resulting from Covid-19. However I agree with you that the current CFR is too high, and in the end it will be drastically smaller. The problem is reliability of data. Not sure if we will ever have that.

175000 cases out of which 18000 have died in NYC. Your numbers are misleading.

Either way its not nearly what they are portraying

Neither you nor anybody else has any idea whatsoever how many cases there have been.

My point is fair. NY Area residents were smeared with COVID sheddings day in and day out - week after week.

If this virus were as deadly as touted, millions would be dead in the NYC area.

And look at Cuomo's antibody study. Close to 21% contracted COVID in NYC - and close to 13% in the state.

And most NYC deaths were end-of-life Seniors and other people with serious health issues

That’s way to many darn people for me to live, no wonder it’s always chaotic.

According to the tests, roughly 13.9 percent of New Yorkers [New York State] have the antibodies for COVID-19, with the number going all the way up to 21.2 percent for New York City residents.

At his daily coronavirus press conference on Thursday, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the early results from statewide antibody tests that New York recently conducted.

So what point are you trying to make this time using a different example of your tiresome argument? We get it. You think covid is just a bad cold.
