Everyone knows the rules, no politics at the family gatherings, although the conservatives significantly outnumber the liberals.

No.

I don’t let politics define my personal relationships.

No. But I could easily be enough of an a-hole to make them cut me off. I have a gift.

I wouldn't cut off family because of politics Truth be told, very few of my family members are left-of-center. That said, those that are have cut off quite a few people because they are conservative and vocal about it.

Basically, if you keep quiet about your conservative views, they'll allow to be part of their group. If not, you're out.

Absolutely not. I pride myself on my family and friends. I don't cut people off because they have a differnet viewpoint. That is a liberal BS tool when they have nothing better to argue on than taking their ball and going away.

I could but why? The entertain value is worth any downside.

Yes. It's a privilege to be invited to my house. If we differ in opinion, but we can still be cordial than its all good. If not, GTFO!

It depends on the relationship and behavior. Anyone acting too much a fool would at least be put on timeout for a while.

Family - 0(to my knowledge)
Friends -1 One of the hardest to understand things for me ever.
Clients - 1

So, it would be easy numbers wise, but kinda tough closeness wise.

I have family in Athens GA right now of who are making an arse of themselves on Social media, who are coming into a lot of money because of inheritances.

They are all over social media saying some really stupid shite. 96-year-old Uncle gets wind of it that things are going south for them, but it's my TV to watch and stay out of the limelight.

I don't know of any living liberal relatives. A couple have died in the past under somewhat mysterious circumstances.

During the covid madness i stopped communicating with those people. I didn't 'cut them off'. I was still pleasant to them at family gatherings, etc. But I stopped seeking out dialogue with them, and stopped answering them for the most part.

It was simply that I couldn't trust them anymore. They would have been glad to see me lose my family over not giving my children the covid jab.

They all went batshiit crazy. And they'd do it again, given half a chance.

Was it that dreaded SUDDENLY SYNDROME?

Would you cut them off if they wanted to see you in prison for your political views?

See, that's the rub. That's what I had to deal with.
