Coronavirus tests

Can anyone explain what the big deal is over testing?
Are the tests going to cure the virus? Do Flu tests, AIDS tests, herpes tests, etc. cure or stop the spread of those ailments?

“AIDS” (HIV) tests actually do limit the spread because they make an otherwise asymptomatic carrier realize that they can spread the disease, and take appropriate precautions.
One facet of widespread coronavirus testing uses this same premise.

The huge difference is (other that someone took a D to A) they won't test you for Corona if you don't have symptoms.
Most people understand that if they start showing symptoms, get tested, comes back positive, they are basically under house-arrest for two weeks. I can understand a person who is in an at-risk of dying due to underlying health conditions wanting to know, but a younger person with no symptoms? What's the point? The test is just a snapshot in time anyway. You don't have any symptoms, go get tested, don't have it, catch it from the gas pump on the way home from the clinic.

The tests are the controlling device(your life) going forward.

Idk...
We already know 6-22% of everyone has had it depending on the region...
Split the difference...roughly 14%
That's roughly 50 million Americans...
We are at herd immunity

Just another way for Honor Code to extend his stay at home order until June 1st.

It's the stupidest of all arguments, the virus is going g to run its course regardless, those who get sick enough will get treatment and it's only a snapshot in time, a negative is meaningless you could get it the next day.
Now I think the AB test is critical.

This is wrong on multiple levels.

That is new York State, the hardest hit state in the country due to moronic failures of their elected leaders, who the press still fawn over as great leaders.
Other areas of the country are significantly lower.
But what we do see is that actually exposure appears to be significantly higher than thought.
The California study just had it's data redone and the numbers downgrade the previous estimate but still dwarf the known cases by an estimate of 5 to 65x.

Dems just want to drive the numbers as high as possible and use it to keep things closed.

Contact screening tests are uniformly performed on asymptomatic individuals.

I don't know where they are doing "contact screening", but they sure as Hell are not doing it here. Just last week, I read a county commission's guideline on testing. It specifically said, no symptom, no test.
As for contact screening, that is complete bullshite. No way I'm giving up my right to privacy.

Democrats want to inflate the numbers as high as possible to show low IQ voters "look, this is how many people caught this dreadful disease because that evil bastard Trump fricked up the response."
They're too stupid to see that by increasing the number of cases you exponentially lower the death rate to an average flu year.

Thanks for the copious amount of refutable evidence. Your point is taken......and discarded.

I understand that but this is my question: what would testing protocol look like? Meaning test me today and i could be negative but tomorrow could be positive. I'd be fine with testing me before I walk into the nursing home where I work BUT if I want to go to Target or Hobby Lobby or anywhere, will I be tested first?
And testing a person once won't cut it, unless they're positive and then stay home to quarantine. Not sure how that would all work.

From what I'm told, we already have. I asked how in the heck should I test positive adn was at TJ Maxx, would they find the people there. "Bank transactions" I was told. Then I asked "well what if I paid in cash?". I was then told that they could search by phone location at a given time.
Now IDK if that's correct info or not but it sure did make me question things. Oh and it's also been said turning off our location services on a phone doesn't help. Leave your phone at home .. but then if your car is newer, they could "trace/follow" that.

I think you can get a good idea what is actually good for ending this ordeal and what isnt, just by examining the media. Generally, the praise things like the testing you are talking about, which dont really do anything to end the hysteria, and then downplay things like antibody testing, and promising treatments which would speed the end of the lockdown.

The anti body test is a head scratcher too.
They are performing them in Heath Texas today for 50$. You can get the results back in 2 hours via "text".
Big brother is watching and you're paying for it.
I'm curious, does cost you anything to be tested to see if you have covid?
