After WW2 frankly. But for reference the US population was 226 million in 1980. Documented. Each person you add now depletes the per capita natural assets of every other citizen. Especially if they consume resources but don’t contribute taxes. Totally unsustainable now. You can’t have the productive and the unproductive living together. My Left Coast country can take the unproductive and be socialist if they want. We will continue to work our asses off here in the Gulf Coast.

That's an interesting thought. Would they continue to do so, if they don't need them to cheat their vote?
I can see the argument of them still wanting their cheap labor.
It would definitely be interesting to see how their opinions would change, as they realize that they don't have the resources for that cause.

i don't think every liberal i know is so evil to say they want to control and destroy everyone, i think that they know they can't get their system to work if everybody doesn't consent.
e.g. give people the option to keep the money they would pay into SS or Medicare and it would die within a month. I don't think wanting those things are evil, but if you're system can't survive without compulsory taxation, it's not that great of a system.
