I have no idea who, in fact, wrote that article. But I have dealt with and know several public defenders (NOTE TO ZACH: Typically, the term "public defender" refers to an individual who has signed up for the job and are paid a salary. For example, there is an Office of the Orleans Public Defender. As opposed to a lawyer who may be appointed by the court to represent an indigent client).
Anyway, based upon my experience and numerous dealings and conversations with public defenders, I have serious doubts that one wrote that article. Even the use of language doesn't ring true. Is that proof? Nope. But I'm pretty sure I'm right.
