because it is so exciting to watch cars drive in big circles. What a joke of a so-called sport. It's a wonder it lasted this long.

It was entertaining back in the day when it was a bunch of rednecks racing, wrecking, cursing and fighting each other. Now it's a bunch of West Coast pansies driving in circles trying not to offend anyone and crying when they get bumped. They tried too hard to make it like Formula 1. But F1 is a better product for a different type of viewer, who wouldn't sully themselves by watching NASCAR.

What a perfect fit. Let's market a 5 hour race where cars literally go in circles to a demographic with a 10 minute attention span and never liked the sport to begin with.

So smart.

Lot of truth in this statement and explains the decade plus downward trajectory. NASCAR can virtue signaling and pander all they want, but until they get back to their roots from the driver and personality perspective, they don’t stand a chance. These wimpy arse drivers of today and their milk toast, non offensive personalities have no appeal to anyone. Literally, no one.

No thanks.

I was wondering why this shite was on my tv, running late, and messing up Bob's Burgers.

Probably concluded that the best long term investment would to at least try to appeal towards a younger crowd.

Or left it alone and let it be multi-generational fandom. Probably would have had a better chance at success.

Not too sure the NASCR powers that be can prevent someone from displaying a flag at any of their events.

Confederate flag in the image of Dale Earnhardt?

Ooh that'd be tough for NASCAR. At Daytona on the 20th Anniversary of his death?

This. And

Sport died with Dale
——-
Somewhat true. At its apex when he died

I started watching and attending back in the 80s. They Tried to expand, rightfully so, but in the end they will need to fall back on the original fan base to survive. Alienating them, not by just the flag, but any other SJW bs will be their downfall.
For me it was funner seeing ole red neck boys racing for the fun of it. Now just a bunch of young punks. They’ll be in deep financial trouble as the years go on.

Yep, I was a long time fan who attended races but stopped watching last year as soon as the BLM and Noosegate started.
