Look at the people who have given interviews and have had zero problem with it.

Shying away from an interview is a beta move and will make me wonder what he has to hide.

You mean the few people that Mueller managed to put in process crime traps?

Let's not pretend that you have any interest in being fair and impartial to Donald Trump.

You want him as gone as much as the most crazy tResistance loon and Never Trumper does.

The people who got in trouble for false statements is a very small percentage of everyone that has been interviewed.

Just don't lie. Simple. Surely Trump can handle that.

And that's still a few too many.

He can be compelled if necessary. Is that the best move for him?

Good luck finding a judge that has the balls to allow that.

You should be asking that question for Mueller who bears the burden of proof for why a subpoena for the President of the United States is necessary.

Unless Mueller has no shite evidence of treasonous collusion by Trump, you're not getting a subpoena.

Not really.

It may be a "special" counsel but the special counsel is still an employee of the executive branch and is acting with the President's law enforcement powers with the President's permission.

William Rehnquist wrote that the President is the sole repository of the executive power of the United States and that's one good reason why a subpoena is not going to fly.

The constitution provides for a legal check on the President and that's impeachment proceedings.

A grand jury can issue a subpoena and Trump can try to fight it but he won't stand much of a chance. I think there's a reason why other Presidents ultimately chose not to fight it. Previous Presidents I think had some concern about having that precedent set so they accommodated.

But really Trump could have put this to bed a year ago. If there really is no there there then he could be moving on to other things by now.

You're arguing a losing point. The board's liberals will claim that Trump is a dictator and a Nazi yet simultaneously make arguments that are in direct contravention of the 5th and 14th Amendments and in support of a prosecutor whom they want to have zero oversight and accountability.
