Fix it. We have the house and senate. Fix it.

Unfortunately, it is a bit more complicated than that. So far actually implementing it at the state level has been a mess.

Kansas tried it and it was a mess

New Hampshire also tried it this year for local elections and it was also a mess. Married women who have changed their name needed to show birth certificates and marriage certificates as well as state IDs.

The EAC developed the federal form. Not legislation. There’s no reason the EAC can’t make changes to it.

Nope, the Constitution is clear on this. This is the job of the States, not the executive branch.

I read your reply wrong. You are correct. The legislation that is held up does deal with national elections and the safeguards that must be in place though. My bad.

You might laugh but the courts don't.

The Kansas law ended up blocking the voter registrations of more than 31,000 U.S. citizens who were otherwise eligible to vote. That was 12% of everyone seeking to register in Kansas for the first time. Federal courts ruled it was an "Undue burden" and SCOTUS refused to take it up.

Don't get me wrong, it seems pretty reasonable to have some proof of citizenship to register to vote. The reality is it has been hard to implement, and many citizens were disenfranchised.

In what f'in' developed country in the world (or a y, for that matter), can you vote without presenting proper photo ID?

As long as the Trump admin obeys these unconstitutional rulings, might as well not get worked up. Republicans still play by rules in a world without any. It’ll be their downfall again.

There won’t be because our side is too afraid to do anything about it.

This isn't about voter ID, this is about requiring proof of citizenship to register.

The way many other countries do it is to have national ID cards and automatically register citizens to vote, which results in high turnout. In America the burden to register is on the citizen.

Regardless, this specific issue is about the Constitution, which is pretty clear on the topic.

the only requirement there is to vote, and it can't be proven. Along with who you are. Fricking Dem lefties are a special bunch.

I hope Trump finds a way to legit defeat this kind of judicial obstruction.

Also, that every Presidential nominee must turn in an original birth certificate.

Roberts, Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett are the "figs" who refused to hear Kansas' appeal.
