These rich phony celebrities screaming about climate change yet they are some of the worst offenders leaving behind a carbon footprint with their jets and SUV limos, etc.
Let’s ban cruise ships! They are terrible on the environment.
This from an article about cruise ships.

Cruise ships are among the worst offenders when it comes to environmental impact. Part of the reason for this is that they use a fuel that's sometimes referred to as "bunker fuel." It has around 5,000 times more sulfur in it than normal gasoline. Needless to say, that makes it absolutely terrible for the environment. In recent years, some cruise ships have installed filters in order to trap some of their emissions.
quote:
It's actually estimated that cruise ships produce more carbon dioxide annually than any other type of ship, partly due to all of the amenities they have to keep running on board.

Where does the human waste go when you're on a ship and out at the ocean, you might ask? Well, it goes exactly where you probably expected it to go: out into the ocean. Cruise ships simply dump waste when they are around 12 miles from sure. Of course, they are required to treat it first, but it still isn't great for the environment. Not all countries have the same laws either.
quote:
This means that sometimes cruise ships will discharge waste when they're nearer a country with more lax laws, such was the case recently when Canadians complained about U.S. cruise ships dumping near British Columbia.

Plus I’m sure the cows on the cruise ships are emitting a ton of greenhouse gases.

Oh no! You’d think they’d be more civilized and use the toilet like all the other billions of sea creatures living in the ocean emitting waste….

It’s those additives and preservatives though, baw. Good rule of thumb, if you can’t even pronounce a chemical’s name, it can’t be good for the fishes. But as for sea snakes - they can diaf for all I care.

major cruise line operators belong to an organization called “CLIA” – Cruise Lines International Association. To maintain membership in this organization, cruise lines must adhere to a set of standards, including a Waste Water Management Policy that prohibits dumping of untreated waste at any time.
In addition to the regulations from CLIA, most cruise ships have a staff position onboard called “Chief Environment Officer” or something similar. This individual is responsible for ensuring the ship meets environmental requirements and is operating as clean as possible.
quote:
Firstly, grey water is mixed with black water in carefully measured proportions.
Next, the mix of water is sent to bioreactors, deep in the bowels of the ship.
Inside those bioreactors, the dangerous chemicals are filtered out.
The rest of the liquid is disinfected by UV radiation, which is safer for marine life.
The remaining water is then monitored for any remaining bugs, such as fecal coliform.
Finally, the now clean water is discharged into the sea.

Silly me, all this time I thought these cruise ships burned diesel and not gas

New ships like Disney Wish are LNG.
They converted the other ships to low sulfur fuels.
And sea life loves corn…

So if people traveled by themselves, how much carbon would we save?
I thought mass transportation saved carbon output.

Cruise ships are EVIL. It's shocking environmental cognoscenti haven't demanded action in their banning and complete removal from the planet's waters.
Can you imagine the destruction of earth-saving coral reeves that occur each time one of these behemoth monsters drops anchor by a Caribbean island?
