I really can't grasp how supporting a sitting president is now somehow an action worthy of being disciplined in school.

It's so fricking loony I can't wrap my brain around it.

Nope, if we play by the rules the Left have laid out, the kid was involved in a peaceful protest.

Bottom line: the teacher was a moron for saying anything beyond enforcing the "hats aren't allowed" policy. Once he started mentioning the fact that it was a MAGA hat, people being offended, blah blah blah, his position is no longer defensible, and he's too fricking stupid to be a teacher if he doesn't grasp that.

And he also gets reprimanded for suggesting he's being an "a-hole."

He also gets reprimanded if he left the kid alone in a classroom.

Ex-fricking-actly.

The moment he went into his "well, rules can be bent, but just not in this particular situation, because yada yada and (insert subjective personal beliefs) and more yada yada" diatribe, he undermined his own position and authority.

If the administration and teachers don't enforce the no hat policy for some hats they shouldn't enforce for any.

Selectively enforcing a no hat rule is not supported by the 14th amendment.

Not to mention the 1st would allow the hat. If the school wants to avoid the issue go full uniform.

If that school allows any kind of hats, yarmulke included, the student was in the right. Otherwise, he should've taken it off... and put it on the edge of his desk so it was easily visible. The teacher was also on the wrong when he called the student an 'a-hole' and said the student 'didn't have freedom of expression' because 'he's not an adult.'
