But but but if we ban guns are we also going to ban cars? fricking pathetic.

Rational objectors aren’t calling for a full gun ban, which is what OP seems to insinuating.

If there is a stated right why is there an incessant need to 'interpret' what it means. This is where intellect gets to run over wisdom.

I support what DT and Rubio are recommending. Age limits, improvements in background checks, and bans on bump stocks.

To go one step further, I have a hard time justifying support for AR’s and would support deeper regs on them.

Bigger picture, lobbyists like the NRA are far too influential in our political system.

So what do you want? Lets say you do get an AR-15 ban. Then another mass murder happens and the loser uses a pistol. Then would you want to ban pistols? Then a mass murder happens like the one at Texas years about where the guy used a bolt action. Would you want bolt actions banned?

When you want to ban AR's to save one life, how do you stop at just AR's?

More influential than who? The NRA's membership size is what makes it so powerful.

You ever wonder why Everytown For Gun Safety doesn't have as much influence as the NRA? It's because compared to the NRA, Everytown For Gun Safety's membership is insignificant.

This is a discussion about gun control. You cannot debate it without mention of the NRA’s influence. For clarity.

The youth of America are slowly slipping backwards and were greatly moved back by the ACA I believe with moving the scale for personal responsibility.

,

improvements in background checks
,

Would be more effective as they are now if those that are supposed to be looking would act on what they see and hear as was in this case the total lack thereof.

If the 30 something times the local police had been called set into motion some time of action and recording of this continued behavior it might have shown up on a background check.

If the school had administered differently from expulsion to charges for threats it might have shown up an a background check.

If the FBI had actually looked into the case they might have recorded and charged something like threats against the school and been later found in a background check.

We need to seek wisdom.

There’s nothing left for you to ban or take away, so just shut up.

Using their writings to interpret the law is the same as the circuit courts using Trump's stump speeches to interpret his travel ban. Wouldn't you agree?

This has to be a joke. In what world are those two things comparable?

One is the writings of people who actually debated and wrote the constitution. The other is campaign speeches.

If you can’t see the difference, you aren’t worth the discussion

If this is true then you all need to get a handle on the more militant, sky screaming portion of your party. You are allowing their emotions and ignorance to bury rational discussion

Fair enough. I have a day job though so I'll leave it to those who aren't distracted by other responsibilities to appease you.
