Beginning Saturday... only allowed out of house for conducting essential business.

This is bullshite. Perfect example of a knee jerk reaction without any common sense.

I hope they’re prepared for civil unrest. People are not meant to be locked away and isolated from each other.

Either shut it all down or open it all up. It makes no sense to let people gather in markets but can't go to other places.

The problems with these, and the reason why this shite isn't nearly as effective as they need to be to justify the economic destruction they cause is way too much shite is considered essential.

McDonalds is considered essential. That means people can still go there. People are still going out t ok work there, etc. Too many people are still working, too many people still going out to grab food, etc. Ace Hardware, Lowe's, Home Depot, all considered essential. People still going out to work, people still going out to shop.

I was looking at traffic cams yesterday here in South Bend, which has a essential travel only order, and it looked like normal fricking business. People everywhere.

At best, it will be ineffective because there are so many essential businesses listed. At worst, it could be counterproductive because the only places that will be open are the largest places like supermarkets. You could have large amounts of people in these spaces which could further spread the virus and drain supplies.

Man. Crazy how all 50 states are inevitably going to - or have already had that same knee jerk reaction. My bet is that this is all some deep state conspiracy.

We’re beginning to fulfill Orwell’s prophecy. This virus, as serious as it is, presents governments with the opportunity to capitalize on fear and expand their powers. I’m worried about how far the police state will go to force people to comply with these rules that are getting more expansive by the day. Provisions put into place after 9/11 like the Patriot Act and the adoption of the TSA still are intact today. I’m concerned about the long-lasting damage this crisis will have on our civil liberties as well, as time goes on. Will the government start requiring mandatory testing and treatment for everyone if things get bad enough?

Hahaha, between this and the extreme pushback on using chloroquine, the crazy Q conspiracy theories are starting to look less crazy lol.

All my travel is essential. If I leave my house, it's sure as hell essential to me.
