Exactly. China has so many people it can do that to any of its neighbors with the possible exception of Russia (and that's mainly because of the sheer size of Russia). It's literally nothing (and possibly a positive since they have an over-population problem) for them to just throw 250k soldiers at something like Taiwan or NoKo (China's total military personnel is just over 3.7 million with only 1.4M of that as Reserves).

’m not saying we could for sure, especially in an actual all out war. But we do have more carriers out there than they have in their entire fleet.

We would have to contend with their Air Force but could form a successful naval blockade nontheless. If they are willing to risk all out war and start hitting our nuclear carriers over Taiwan then I guess it’s WWIII

A couple hundred F18s, 4-6 BMD destroyers with SM2 and 3s, and subs off their coast ready to do some real damage if things get really serious. It’s a reason for pause at least, and more formidable than attacking any non world powers mainland

What's the benefit with an all out war with China?
What would we do if China occupied Taiwan before we could deliver our forces there?
Our carriers will be sitting ducks on west pacific in a war with Chian.

China doesn’t have enough transport ships let alone support ships to protect the transports, to zerg rush across water.

The zerg were a playable faction on Starcraft, South Korea’s National pastime.

But all of this is irrelevant. As long as the U.S. and China are each other’s biggest trading partner, the money will keep the two nations from warring with one another. Neither economy could survive without the other.

Japan’s largest trading partner prior to WWII was the United States.

True, until we cut off their supply of oil, forcing them to fight us to get access to oil.

I could very much see the United States sanctioning it blockading China in retaliation for invading Taiwan or some other type of aggressive action in the region.

Jesus. Just start building a military base in Taiwan housing nukes and missile defense until China takes out North Korea.

We're not talking about China v. US, I was responding to a poster that took the stance Taiwan would whip China's arse.

Starcraft. The Zergs were cheap, weak units to build but you could have metric fricktons of them. Players eventually realized you could just overwhelm an enemy by sending a swarm after them.

It's akin to the "death by a thousand cuts" or stirring up a beehive.

Once again, China does not have enough ships no matter who they’re trying to amphibiously assault. It takes a ton of logistics to zerg rush over water, and China simply is not prepared to do that. Taiwan is not defenseless against a bunch of defenseless trabsport ships lacking proper cover and air support.

Dude. China could take Taiwan anytime they want to.

If that were true, they would have done so a long time ago.

Well a long time ago they couldn’t. And if they did we’d have just gone over there and taken it back fairly easily. That’s not the case today.

ETA: I’m not saying they will. Just that they could.

It’s difficult to take you seriously when you use the term Zerg Rush.

Yes, they do. They have close to twice as many naval vessels as we have, plus Taiwan is around 100 miles away so air transport is also a factor.
