He was cracking impromptu on politicians and he diminished the fact that he lost an eye in war ( “ or something “ ). People then lost their minds on both sides being ridiculous and making solemn pronouncements about the fate of America.

The debate now is that The Left has a specific strategy to ruin good people and whether or not The Right should adopt this strategy as well in cases like this. The Left has created a mechanism for personal destruction that they implement daily to ruin careers and lives and should The Right now demand similar treatment for Leftists. People on the Right being FAR better human beings, rightly see where it leads when we start behaving like Leftist Fundamentalists. So our guy gave their guy a life raft because he’s inherently decent as an example of how it should be done.

That's a bit one-sided I would say. I can think of conservatives ruining the careers of several prominent people recently. I can also remember seeing movie reviews for prominent movies and the anti social justice Warrior crowd going nuts and destroying people. But yeah sure it's all just lefties being mean.

We can ever begin to heal if you're going to be passive aggressive like that.
