One probably Europe has is in the past there has not been a true conservative movement. This is a pretty good website that covers Euro issues from a conservative perspective. Hopefully more Europeans read it and get a different take on things.

In Europe, conservatism is absolute monarchies crowned by the Pope. You're just trading an authoritarian socialist government for an authoritarian monarch with social policies handled by whatever church they empower to promote their agenda. Individual rights is really a relatively new concept for most of the continent.
