Health of the mother is like 1% of abortions and every law passed had addressed this issue. You want to keep the conversation here because you have no moral ground to stand on if that is taken away. This isn't about a medical procedure. It's the taking of human life, mostly for convenience.

Both GOP candidates in WI, one for gov, the other SC, were asked about abortion.

Both were hard line extremists against abortion, even to save the mother, that you seem to think don't exist.

Both lost.

Somehow, I don't think this is a consistent position from some of you.

Every law that's been passed has made exceptions that you seem to think don't exist.

None of the faith questions really matters. The question is does the government have the right to force someone to go through a medical procedure or does the person have the right?

If your wife and you already had a few kids, found out she was pregnant but then found out she needed chemo would you be ok with the government forcing her to have the pregnancy?

What if she didn't want to sacrifice her life? Would you be ok with the government giving her zero choice on the matter?

Question about that. Is abortion a right to remove the fetus? Or a right to the death of the fetus? Because it is going to be possible, in the medium term, to remove a fetus and allow it to gestate in an artificial womb. Would it be acceptable to forbid abortion (intentional killing of the fetus) in those circumstances?

Usually the people who get abortions and think they’re ok shouldn’t have kids anyway

Do you think if that were possible that any women would get pregnant again? Heck, rich women now rent out surrogate wombs.

Pregnancy is the most dangerous time in a woman's life.

If that were a possibility, abortions would plummet.

Make the democrats have to change.

This isn't going to happen. They are significantly more organized than the Republicans are. Their politicians and voters will line up and support anyone with a D next to their name while a lot of Republican voters won't vote for someone who has a softer stance on abortion.

And we wonder why we're getting taken to the cleaners during every election cycle.

Because Republicans have played Charlie Brown football with abortion and other issues for decades.

Sin does only come from inside each person. But be very careful not to lead children astray.

So just ignore what the candidate says?

Seriously?

Candidate-"I'm against all exceptions to abortion law. No abortions period!"

Ribbed-"Well, it's never been passed so I'll just ignore what he says and vote for him anyway."

Laughable. That's not what happens.

Know what's really laughable? Wisconsin's abortion law HAS NO EXCEPTIONS.

They were running to enforce the law to the letter. No new law needed.

Those two guys were extreme and got voted down, so don't support abortion restrictions of any degree or it's DOOOOM!!!

Good game, little buddy. Better luck next time.

You can admit you're wrong.

You won't, but you could.

Adios Holy Rolla

*Goes from saying no one advocated no exceptions to "well, they lost". Yeah, that's the fricking point.
