I wouldn't watch a video, but I am certain it is a control mechanism of the powerful...

It's funny you should say that. My uncle was also a writer for our town weekly. He wrote op-ed pieces on different aspects of life, including politics. A few years back, he used that exact same scenario we encountered in a column to describe our foreign policy in the middle east.
His opinion was that he had maybe done more harm than good.....
Concerning pedophiles, my stance won't change, politics be damned. I hate people that hurt kids.
