Hate to tell you, for Marc and Jacques that wasn't the drug of choice.

Helena Moreno is huge leftist. She is basically a more professional & better behaved AOC. She will actually show up to work & speak properly unlike Destroya & the media will fawn all over her no matter what she does. She is going to attempt to use this as a springboard to higher office.

No person has ever made a "springboard" in their career after being mayor of New Orleans

Kamala referred to her as a star, which should tell you everything you wanted to know about Moreno’s ideology.

Dude i saw with my own eyes them selling out of the windows bags of weed as I had a business right in that hood. Years earlier I had to help my father pu a family friend that was to drunk & drugged up from Papa Morial’s house after a party, there literally was candy dishes with drugs of choice scattered around which I was told by my father not to eat it because it wasn’t candy. I’ve known the scum Morial’s since I was 14-15. You couldn’t tell me anything about them that would surprise me. A buddy of mine dad had a bar in the lower 9th ward that Ernest trying to get in acting white was shown the door on his a*s by a guy who went on to be a state Supreme Court justice. The kids were worse

Mitch Landrieu and Marc Morial did quite well after they left the mayor’s office.

That’s why you idiots shouldn’t have voted Democrat again.

But you did.

Mitch was an adviser to Biden.

He went from mayor to working in the president’s administration.

His father did exactly the same but with Carter.

So you know them? What church did they attend?

You know the girls too?

You do realize that there was never a time in the last 70 years where you had to act white in a bar in the Lower 9.......Being black was just fine......now Ninth Ward .....Fritsch's or Sarge's or Saturn then.....different story.

Was in the house off bayou St. John so yes, getting Helen Smith the significant other of George Kellet of Kellet Lumber after he died. That was 50 years ago when I was there. My father had a range of friends, Harry Connick, Jim Garrison, Victor Schrio, Ott, Giarrusso’s were some of them. He was a cop who worked Vice, mounted a driver on a Lt’s car. My first car was that Lt’s wife’s car, 1966 convertible Impala with white seats and black carpet I bought for 600 in 75. So yes there was a acquaintance of those people

Caranack’s (?) and the restaurant/bar almost at the end of Poland where we would start with the Irish parade marching towards French Quarter said something different in the 70’s. I played a hand or 2 cards at Saturn and Goats joint on Urqhart and had more than a familiarity with Caranack’s(?). It had a beautiful bar

A friend donated $50k to Dutch's campaign and was never arrested for DWI afterwards. He was later banned from bars in NOLA due his violent behavior when drunk

The friend lost his company/money in the oil price collapse then an IRS investigation/fines.

Yeah, but that's not "Lower 9" that 's Nint' Ward Lower 9 was always the other side of the bridge. Personally I was more about Markeys and Bud Rip"s before it went all respectable.

But the Morials parties were not so different from other parties of that era with politicians. They could get out of hand, but no more so than some of the parties I went to of West Bank politicians ( Algiers and JP) in the 80s. Lots of candy for everyone back then at those as well .

Chief could have some serious parties as well. Even after he calmed down, joined the council and moved on Morrison Rd.....ALL the cops were at those as well as politicians. Once found Lou Ivon ....."lost" at 100 am after one of those

Funny thing is I grew up in the 7th district and we always referred to ourselves as the 9th ward and Lama’s to Poland as the 5th district area the Lower 9th ward. The East in the 70’s was predominantly white and clean with only blight in the square of Crowder, Chef, Dwyer to the interstate west of Livingston Middle School. Little Woods was old but not trashed. The blight from N Robertson to River to the east up to Chalmette was full of decay hence why we new it as lower 9th. Bud Rips and Marky’s was definitely a good bit of damage to the liver and brain cells
