I am not trying to speak to whether this is an independent decision on the part of a commanding general (I do not think so which is very troubling)

I can tell you that in the AF 3 and 4 star majcom commanders were told to sit down, shut up and color between the lines. At least some of them disagree with the entire thing so they're not giving them any discretion that might make the turnip look bad. I suspect this is the policy across all branches, because this administration is vindictive and petty as all frick.

It's a helluva lot less than that. They have absolutely dumpster fired the credibility of senior leadership with the whole religious exemption farce. It would have been far, far better to just never pretend they were going to consider them.

Then they need to drop their fricking retirement paperwork!

If they feel that strongly, is it really worth another few years' worth of pension? I swear I can count the number of General Officers on one hand that could wipe their own arse without their entire SGS contingent.

I'm amazed there are only 27 members of the air force who actually stand for freedom.

Are you saying the Air Force is an organization that still falls under the Army?
Do you struggle with following a thread counsellor? I can cite my post if you would so desire.

ETA: Subsequent post regarding how this information was conveyed to a fellow colonel during a commander's conference.

My hope is that you read your briefs more thoroughly than you have this thread.

Not all JAG officers are competent.

When I was a Company Commander, I had to get an NCO prosecuted for adultery. The BJA said there wasn't enough evidence for a case due to lack of proof of an illicit relationship. and I asked, "then what do you call his bastard son being enrolled in DEERS?" The Brigade Commander fired him a week later.

Yeah, if you are going to be a smarmy prick to a retired colonel that has four times the amount of uniformed service that you have, you probably should have a good understanding of the topic at hand.

Whenever I'M a smarmy prick to a retired Colonel that has about twice the amount of uniformed service that I have...he probably deserved it.

"Make an informed decision" is code for "Do what you're told and don't you dare think for yourself or take a critical look at it".

I know a couple of judges have slapped their wrist but none of the rulings applied to the military. Legally the military is in the clear; mandating medical readiness is something they’ve always done.

It’s the way they went about it that turned it into such a cf.
