Don't know what everyone is so shocked about. Who else are the Republicans going to elect? Thune is a compromise Leader just like Johnson in the House. Both the Ultra-Conservatives and the Moderates voted for him. No one else wants the job, just like no one was willing to vote for an off the wall screwball Freedom Caucus member in the House.

Some here act like he has a choice in the matter. He doesn't. He has owners. They tell him what he will do. If he loses, so be it.

I would vote for Satan BEFORE I would vote for Cassidy.

I'm not voting for Cassidy for any number of reasons besides this, but have either of the other two outright vowed or declared that they won't vote for Thune?

There are two social media groups, annoying AF on social media which appeal to a few small parishes with a lot of fake and misleading info on CCS. I'm not for it but I'm not a phucking moron like these folks are nor am I influenced by far leftist money and NOLA envirowhackos. The Senate has no say on a state permitting issue. Additionally, If Honore, Bucket Brigade and Rise St. James are against something, the safe option is being for it. They are all whackjobs funded by leftist money. Pflegming sides with them.

As far as voting record, Letlow's congressional district is not that conservative except on social issues. Since congresscritters represent their constituents, especially NE LA is dirt arse poor except for some large landowners. They've lost much of their good paying jobs with closures of paper mills and reduction of the lone chemical plant both near Sterlington. Notice that "Green Industry" such as the wood to motor fuels plant proposed near Monroe as well as the cellulose to chemicals plants at St. Joseph, were all in the area even under conservative administrations.
