It didn’t happen in s vacuum. Ben Bradlee had a serious hard-on for Nixon and it was personal. I mean like genuine animosity between the two men.
Woodward and Bernstein took all the credit and built long careers off Watergate, but the fact is, they were tasked with taking down that particular President.
