She never talks about taking away the welfare state for the sake of the re-creation of the black family in America? I’m an Assistant Principal at an “inner city” school in EBR and I started a program this year called the STRONG Men Academy in which I teach young black men these values. I have community members come in every week to help teach them these values. And they love it and every community member who comes in loves the experience and mos of them are black. You are more than welcomed to come help. People like her and J Peterson have inspired me to do this program. That’s how she is doing something for black America!

It has to be Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, which we commonly call welfare. But the benefits are divided roughly evenly between whites, blacks and Hispanics. And the rolls have gone down in the past two decades.

Maybe its the free Obamaphones for low-income people. But isn’t this the phone companies-supported Lifeline Assistance program started by the Reagan administration and expanded to cover cellphones under the Bush administration?

Heres the deal you all miss: I am not promoting living off of welfare. I am VERY pro-business. I believe that the government providing conditions for a strong economy is the best recourse.

And passing it off by saying the GOP shouldn't have to do anything is a lazy defense. Everybody votes for a political party for something. If a business didn't promote what it sells better than its competition, it would have few customers.

Taking away the welfare state will hurt more poor working class people than any other demographic. I agree that the way welfare is implemented is counter-intuitive. But it could be fixed with two simple changes: Fix the payment per child model to be limited to 2 kids. Replace the clause saying only single parent homes receive certain benefits to one that works only for 2 parent homes.

Most two parents homes are less likely to use it, so you lower the amount on the dole and encourage families. I admire the fact that you are doing something positive to help people in need. We have two different philosophies. I just believe that the problem is more economical than personal.
