I've told this story before... and I'm partly grateful for it. Oldest daughter is special needs, can't drive, basically incompetent... can't do much (but is highly functional). One thing all of her friends' love... they can vote. I would say between them, they probably counter-act 20 dead, democrats every election cycle. My only concern is, there are others out there, doing the exact opposite.
I tell her, "..there may come a day when the right/privilege is taken away from you, depending on the government policy... lets celebrate this moment for what it is." -- and I'm thrilled, she does.

You're talking about infringing on the divine right of the common man. That sounded really good at inception, but times have changed dramatically.
Yes, there's needs to be a demonstrated minimum intelligence as well as a minimum amount of taxes paid (i.e. you paid more in than you got back). Won't happen, but it needs to.
Same thing extends to having children. You want to adopt? You get vetted like you might be a terrorist. You want to knock someone up? Go right ahead. We don't care how unfit you might be as a parent, take this baby home and we'll help you pay for taking care of it.
