Anyone who has purchased a weapon; has gone through a background check. Anyone who hasn’t bought a gun legally did not. It’s really simple.

Government has to enforce the laws on the books first.

But there are always a background check when buying a firearm. It has happened for years. Every time I’ve bought one.

I guess I’m not understanding the whole “background check” dilemma?

The dilemma is for private sells and just letting a friend borrow a weapon. It will just criminalize honest people in the end.

You can buy a gun from a private individual without a background check in many states, and I have no problem with that

What if a family member gives a hand gun to a sibling? What should happen then?

I don’t care how you register a shotgun or how you take it seriously!

Background checks should be eliminated.

A free people shouldn’t need government approval to exercise a right.

As long as the sibling is not a felon it's perfectly legal. Though I'd assume there's a risk of civil liability if the sibling uses it in the commission of a crime.

If the buyer is a felon, I imagine he will procure the gun by illegal means.

You see, criminals really don't care about the law.

Shocking, right?

What if it is a 98lb woman with an violent ex and the system wrongly denies her purchase?

From Brady Campaign’s own spokesman years ago the purpose isn’t to protect anyone. The purpose is to have to seek government permission before exercising the 2nd Amendment right.
