Can someone give me a logical reason why Trump would be against releasing the files?

I’ve yet to hear a clear reason why anyone would be against the release.
Why not just come out and say “I ask every Republican to vote yes so we can out the BS behind us!” so it doesn’t look like he’s covering something up?
I understand I pissed a lot of people off with my post about the emails, but I’m actually asking for a good argument here.
It makes him look like he’s hiding SOMETHING. If not his own actions, then someone else’s. And this board would usually be asking for the head of someone defending Pedos.

Anyone who says it isn't suspicious is kidding themselves.
I don't even think there is anything damning in them about Trump. If there were, we would have heard about it years ago.

Because the President isn’t falling for another one of your bs traps to spend the next year talking about fake emails tying him to Epstein, you and the other faux outragers are welcome to rescue children trapped in sex trafficking since you continue to feign outrage

Because when him and the DOJ got a real look at the intel they discovered that Mossad and the CIA and God knows who else we’re all complicit and neck deep in Epstein…so TPTB convinced him it’s better not to light that fuse.

This doesn’t even make sense. He could just say “sure let’s release them” if he’s not covering something, and no damage would be done to him. He’s the one hurting himself by pushing against their release.

I wouldn’t expect you to understand because you want the spectacle. Furthermore, there is no list and IF one ever existed it has been redacted and manipulated to a point where even it’s release would only gaslight the conspiracy theorists even further. Face it, you were duped by social media influencers and an incompetent AG. You want public pressure to continue so the next year will be filled with fake public hearings and fake experts attempting to tie Trump to Epstein.

Because snitches get stitches. It's evil, but that's what it is. Politicians are not good people and we give them fame and fortune. It's disgusting what power hungry people with power do.
Releasing the Epstein files would implicate so many U.S. and global politicians and it would destroy any hope for trust that Trump would hope to gain or maintain.
This really isn't a difficult concept. It's like the guy that tells on everyone at the jobsite for not wearing their PPE.

It's a distracting bit of political leverage and legwork over the Democratic Party's collective heads.
This man is trying to root out remnants of the political machine that has made possible two attempts on his life, a few impeachment attempts, and ruination of his public-facing character via media slander and fixed "investigations".
I'd want them to think about, and spend effort on, something else to provide as many openings in their armor as I could too, if I were him.

National security risks for both of or even a combination of these 2 reasons:
- Epstein was a Mossad agent, so releasing the files will compromise world politics.
- The list contains many prominent, powerful names that if released could crush the US economy
I'm not saying that I don't want to see the list, but I can understand if these are the reasons. The damage and harm that could happen in a true depression has to be avoided.
I still want the list revealed though. The villains need to be exposed
