"Gender" is a made-up cultural marxist term from about 50 years ago.
Would you be less "triggered" if we chose a different word?

Sex and gender are the same thing
Refusal to acknowledge that this is not ALWAYS the case? Well, that is pretty close-minded.

Gender and sex are the same thing.
Anyone who tells you different is just as mentally ill as the ones claiming it.

Gender = mood
But many studies have found that various physical factors (e.g. hormonal balances in utero) can also be a causative factor underlying behaviors normally associated with one sex rather than the other.

Even if you can get progressives to accept that gender and sex are the same, they'd make up a new word to replace gender/gender expression and the fight would start all over again.
The phenomenon is real. A name/word is simply a tool for discussing something that exists in our world.

They are not.
It's just an invention in the minds of libs to make people with mental problems feel better about themselves until about 4 out of 10 cash it in via suicide.

quote:I have never understood this argument.
To me, you are what you are physically. How you “feel” is irrelevant.
What makes humans special? Is it our body, which is not too different from that of any other primate? Or is it our MIND, which is unique in the animal kingdom?
I submit that the latter is the more-defining characteristic of a person.

We can't base regulations and laws on something ephemeral like mood.
Just have to stick with the tried and true born with physiological method.

The mind does make a human special.
One of the peculiarities of the human mind is its susceptibility to delusion. A person can be convinced they’re Jesus Christ. Or a chicken. None of that conviction translates necessarily into actual reality.

No. Biology is a pretty damn strong characteristic of a person. Every single male who transitions to a female better damn well continue to see a proctologist and has no business seeing an OBGYN
If you honestly believe how I feel is more important than my biology, then you fully support and answer yes to these right:
If I believe I am 65 can I collect social security?
If I feel black can I get scholarships and benefits reserved for them?
If I feel like an employee of Walmart can I demand they send me a check?
If I feel like a dog can I take a dump in public fully nude in my neighbors yard everyday?
If I believe I am 13 can I sexualize children?

Sex - biological makeup. Chromosomes.
Gender - our interpretation of outward characteristics
Example: men’s/women’s clothing. This has nothing directly to do with biological makeup, but rather outward characteristics. This is gender, not sex.
When you plug in an appliance, you may refer to a male/female end. That has nothing to do with the appliance’s biology, which doesn’t exist, but rather to the imposed gender (outward characteristics) of the part referenced.
If you say “Sir, do you know the way to San José?” and the person to whom you’re speaking says “680, and I’m a woman, for your information,” that is a biological male (sex) who identifies as a woman (gender) for reasons I could never fully comprehend.
If the person says “I don’t know how to get there, and I’m a woman, for your information,” that is a biological female (sex) whom you have mistaken for a man (gender) based on her outward characteristics.

So there’s “male” and “female” clothing?

Science Says: Sex and gender aren’t the same
WASHINGTON (AP) — Anatomy at birth may prompt a check in the “male” or “female” box on the birth certificate — but to doctors and scientists, sex and gender aren’t always the same thing.
The Trump administration purportedly is considering defining gender as determined by sex organs at birth, which if adopted could deny certain civil rights protections to an estimated 1.4 million transgender Americans.
But variation in gender identity is a normal part of human diversity, the American Academy of Pediatrics, or AAP, stresses in a new policy that outlines how to provide supportive medical care for transgender youth. .....

No one here cares what “gender” weirdos want to assign themselves
We care about those 0.01% weirdos telling us what we can and can’t do or say. Or if they can piss in the stall next to our daughters.

Item #1: no matter what your child says, you must get them treated for their biological sex because it is the only thing that matters in the medical world.
