Green New Deal - 100 Trillion Dollars (10 years)
Universal Health Care - 8 Trillion
Student loan forgiveness - 1.25 Trillion dollars
Free College - 100 Billion
Reparations - 20 Trillion
Basic Income - 3.5 Trillion

I know I'm missing something.

Out annual US budget is less than 4 trillion.

How are the Democrats promising over 40 Trillion dollars of stuff on a 4 Trillion dollar budget?

They plan to tax us folks in the 5-25% income range until we bleed, which will be even more difficult given the economic crash that woukd follow a democrat presidency.

Well right off they just ain't promising any such thing but, second of all they won't follow through with 25% of any of it in a perfect world (just like Mexico ain't paying for a wall...anyone older than 25 and a brain knows this)and third and maybe most important Student loans aren't going to be paid anyway so that number will be greatly reduced as any additional spending, we already have universal health care costs and the associated costs of collecting bad medical debt so that is a wash as in no additional spending. The last 3 ain't happening. The green new deal ain't happening....so the 2 that may actually see some traction, again in a perfect world for democrats, will not result in any new spending so they are a wash....but nice try...

Estimates for Bernie's free health care for all is 8 trillion annually.

So let's just go with that one promise. Total US Budget is 3.8 trillion.

Show me the math.

Could tax them at 99% and it wouldn't even come close to covering any of those things, except for free college.

The countries that have universal health care even the poors pay taxes. You make 6k a year no problem the government is getting $2.5k. You make $100 yr the government is collecting their $25. The poor and middle class will be the ones paying for these proposals. Rich don’t have enough left to pay for them

Other estimates say it will cut healthcare costs in half. Neither is realistic. In actuality most studies show an increase in costs of about 1% of GDP, from the current 18% to about 18.7%...with much better outcomes across the entire population.

We are already spending 18% of GDP on health care...by hook or by crook....it isn't new spending as your premise infers....

No one would disagree that medical care is expensive and getting more so as we speak (although that growth has been slowed substantially in the last 8 years or so). It is an irrefutable FACT that the paying public is going to make up the difference for the non-paying uninsured or underinsured whether its through premiums, co-pays, deductibles....whatever...the paying public is not only paying for themselves we are also paying for those who can't or won't pay for themselves...and that number is substantial and ain't just single moms....the majority of personal bankruptcies are a result of medical costs....which are paid by the paying customer. No bill offered by ANYONE other than Democrats addresses this problem...yes, in an ideal world you would only pay for your own expenses...unfortunately that world does not exist...every penny which goes unpaid is passed on to the paying customer....always has been, always will be....business logistics won't allow for anything other than this fact. What is the GOP plan for this? Business as usual is all I have heard.....

What the democrats are planning to eventually do is seize everyone's 401k and retirement accounts. If they ever regain control of house and senate and the presidency at the same time they are going to give it a shot
