Trump's mention more than once to Zelensky that he have the Attorney General get in contact with him.....I suppose it would be a waste of time to ask you IF you simply dismiss that. I know the answer to that. So instead I ask you exactly WHY you dismiss that...??

And Trump didn't say "I'll have Mike Pompeo get with you," rather, he specified "the Attorney General". To me that is a clear reference to the Justice Department. Have the JD get with Zelensky and go from there.

But that's me. What you got on it?

I don't dismiss it. Read the paragraph of the phone call. Trump repeatedly asked Zelensky to investigate.

Why not have the FBI investigate?

I guess we're all just a little guilty of seeing what we want to see in these things, and of course we have carte blanche to interpret as we see fit. So in that vein, my response to the FBI question is this: I see the mentions of AG as equivalent to mentions of the Justice Department/FBI. As far as Trump "repeatedly asking Zelensky to investigate," I'm convinced Trump's overall point was to merely bring the issue to the forefront, then we'll have AG get with you on details as to who could do what in a cooperative endeavor.

If Trump wanted Biden investigated, he should have had the FBI investigate. Trump didn't want to be accused of investigating a political rival, so he sent Giuliani to Ukraine to get them to investigate Biden. Why did Trump have the FBI investigate? Crickets.

Are you drunk? Lmao. I hope so because I don’t think you thought this hypothetical through.

Please share with us the jurisdiction our FBI has in U freaking Kraine... and if he would have, which he wouldn’t for obvious reasons unbeknownst to you and we could, which we can’t for obvious reasons unbeknownst to you, wouldn’t he have been accused of the same exact thing. Our FBI is mostly domestic and in other countries, we work in cooperation with THEIR OWN ENTITIES BECAUSE IT ISN’T OUR COUNTRY.

Did the Obama administration via QuidProQuoJoe pressure Ukraine?

He’s bound by a signed treaty to do exactly that

Yeah - either we are misinterpreting the purpose the treaty or the Repubs ought to be screaming from the rooftops; "what about the treaty?" This thing should have been stopped before it even started if that treat means what we think it means.

What the deep state is really upset about is that Trump is changing precedent and investigating past executives. That never really happens. Presidents and Vice presidents were supposed to be untouchable on how they made their money while in office.

Exactly, "The People" or TD want these scoundrels to pay for their corruption of the system.

The whole pressure thing is ridiculous. Other than disaster aid, every piece of money we send has some caveat attached to it. Hell, they probably attack caveats to disaster aid too.

Dems have no legs on this. He did nothing Illegal and if they believe it was unethical, then they need to explain why the Obama administration using the full force of the federal government to investigate and leak information on Trump was fine, legal and ethical.

At the end of the day it is laughable to call this High Crimes and Misdemeanors. They can't even point to a broken law which is why they had to go with "Abuse" and "Obstruction" because those are subjective terms. Not high crimes.

That is a terrible premise. Why? Because it leads to exactly what happened in Rome to where people in power fear leaving power because they fear legal recourse. That’s partly how you got Caesar.

Bill Barr has been AG since Febuary 16. He could have overseen an investigation and appointed a Durham-type attorney to handle the day-to-day operations.

To me, saying he can't trust the FBI is simply a rationalization to excuse Trump from not going to the FBI if he thought an investigation was warranted.

Pressuring a foreign country by withholding aid or official acts (presidential visit) is perfectly fine if it furthers a legitimate U.S. interest.

DJT's motivation was to damage a political rival based on dubious claims that were discredited by all of his advisors. If you believe DJT would have pushed this if the target's name wasn't "Biden," I have some beachfront property to sell you.

How would that be any different than Obama's motivation. Why when the FISA calls revealed ZERO wrongdoing were the names released to the 17 agencies?

Democrats are fine with investigating political opponents and leaking information. Why only when liberals are in power is this behavior ok?
