Anthropology.

He’s a deeply insecure, misogynistic man. But he knows how to write a dissertation, which is what we met about.

Again, capitalism is freedom.

When you say "capitalism drives pretty much every aspect of our society" you're saying "freedom drives pretty much every aspect of our society".

And to respond to your response preemptively:

No!

It is a new way of attaining revenue, at least in part from a foreign source, or by opening those markets to American exports, or both.

Again, increasing tariffs are the opposite of this.
Negative.
Tariffs do not occur in isolation.
You're forwarding the same kind of economic simpletonism which holds that tax cuts uniformly equate to decreased revenue.

Its protectionism, which hinders innovation.

Our auto industry cant survive without govt subsidies anymore.

If you prefer less choice and higher prices, support it. I do not.

It is not. Capitalism is the pursuit of profit in a theoretically free market but free markets don’t really exist.

No. My comment has nothing to do with this, overlap with this, or association with this argument.

As I've told you in other discussions, tax receipts will be around 20% of GDP with any normal (non-polar) system of taxation.

You are just fighting the label because it's Leftism.

I believe dignity is intrinsic to everyone. It’s God-given. It’s not measurable - you either have it or you don’t. I believe everyone possesses dignity because we were all made in the image and likeness of God.
Well then your question is fricking idiotic.

Does such distortion of the free market serve to increase or decrease dignity?

Prototypical. You can bet those qualities lead him to feel undignified relative to those who who don't share them.

Life in youth is about the dream.
Life as we age is about the reality.
If the reality underperforms the dream, dignity is the cost.

Your prof wants to blame others for his own underachievement, That, cubbies, is undignified.

Although I'll use this opportunity to ask if this is a capitalist-scumbag thing to do. A marketing-type agency just reached out to me and said they'd give me $100 for a 30-minute demo (I get these about once every 3-4 months of varying amounts). However, they sent this "cold call" to my admin email. I already use this service, but it's associated with my primary email.

Would I be a scumbag to get the $100?

Leftism is like the leftover waste that didn’t survive prior to capitalism. Prior to capitalist societies the leftist lazy and low IQs would have died off without the affordability of the welfare state that is afforded off the backs of capitalist tax payers.

You wouldn’t even be alive long enough to have this discussion 150 years ago. Move elsewhere if you don’t like it.

My question to her is why would she take something an extremely insecure misogynist believes and think its true.

You don't understand what you're responding to. That is 'literally' the element Americans do not pay.

He has an impressive resume. He’s insecure about other things like desperate need to be liked and affirmed. Either way, I don’t think the focus should be on him. I’m sure he feels like he has dignity. We were discussing marginalized people and whether or not society treats them with dignity.
