Can anyone remedy this for me? Re. border towns, illegal immigration, and assimilation

Eventually this country will be majority Illegal Immigrants and anchor babies. Nothing is being done to stop this. Birthright citizenship is a disaster and so are all the handouts that Illegals game the system to use.

Why would illegals assimilate? They literally have no reason to.

This is the major reason why going through the proper citizenship proceedings is so important. It teaches people to appreciate what they had to go through to get citizenship and also teaches them the history and mechanics of their new country. You know who absolutely hates illegal immigrants? Legal immigrants.

I’m currently in Laredo, and considering the amount of dollars they get from the border it is an absolute shite hole. And no, not much assimilation to be found.

I don't think hispanic immigrants are beyond assimilation. You have plenty of 2nd and 3rd generation immigrant kids who are now small business owners or whatnot in Texas.

I once worked for a group that did a lot of research and legal work relating to immigration, and despite being very conservative, the finding wasn't that there was any inherent obstacle to assimilation. In fact, the prospects for assimilation were pretty good under the right circumstances.

The biggest obstacle to assimilation was enclaves, which is probably exactly what you get in border towns. Where there is spanish TV/radio, communities of other people who are just like you, food just like home, etc. There is no incentive or need to assimilate. Combine that with forces telling you that those who promote assimilation hate you and your culture, and it's a pretty huge obstacle.

Won’t happen. It’s too big a jump from 3rd to 1st world behaviorally.
