Still have 30 years to catch up with bama's payouts

It will disqualify them with the NCAA and California teams will no longer be allowed to play in NCAA sponsored events.
I don't get where you guys are getting this. The schools wouldn't be paying the players.
If the player sells his autograph, the player loses his eligibility. What NCAA schools have been banned for a player getting extra benefits?

Who are they going to play?
Each other. And teams from states that pass similar laws.

Title IX will probably jump in the middle of this, too.
How are they going to pay a *5 QB more than they pay a girl on the tennis team.
Again...THE SCHOOLS WOULDN'T BE PAYING THE PLAYERS!!!
Jeez, people, try to keep up.

It's never been against the law for any athlete to get paid. Nobody goes to jail for it.
It violates NCAA rules. And the athletes that get paid will be declared ineligible, moronic California law or not.

Why does the left destroy anything and everything the rest of America likes?

Seriously?
-Ole Miss got killed for the actions of a car dealership
-MS State got a QB declared ineligible because he got tires for his truck, in his hometown on the Gulf Coast. The NCAA said that he wouldn't have gotten a deal on the tires if he wasn't an athlete
-Oklahoma got pinched for players "working" at a car dealership.
None of these involved the University paying anybody. I'm sure there are plenty more examples

And when the two or three sports that actually make money suddenly go into the red because all of their players are ineligible? Does anyone really think women's lacrosse would be viable without money from real sports?

And did either school get banned? No.

How many football players at Cal would be able to sell an autograph for even a warm cup of piss?
Some of y'all talk like you just started following college sports about 5 minutes after this law passed.

If they had played those ineligible players then yes, they would have been banned.
Is every player who gets paid going to voluntarily sit out?

Some wish they could sell theirs for a brand new charger. ;)

Jeez. Again...NOT TO PAY THE PLAYERS! They have to "allow" the players to profit from their likeness.

Definitely. Instead of people playing for the love of the game at the best school possible.
I believe that ship sailed a long time ago.

And thus lose their NCAA eligibility. That's all I'm saying

Liberals: complain about the 1%.
Also liberals: pass legislation to help the 1%.

That's all you've got? An emoji? You didn't even know what the fricking law said.
We've got a bunch of clueless fricks in this thread who think that suddenly every football player at Cal State Northridge is suddenly going to make $10,000 on autographs.
Are you one of them?
